Two weeks ago, on June 24, the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, it was announced that our US Supreme Court overturned Roe vs Wade and Planned Parenthood vs Casey. As the Wisconsin Catholic Conference wrote in its letter to the faithful dated June 24, 2022, "While relieved that an inhumane and unjust right to abortion has been struck down, we know well that many of Wisconsin's pregnant and parenting women face grave challenges. It is for this reason that our prayers and our work to protect every human life must increase." We, as Catholics, understand that many women are fearful, angry and uncertain about their rights so we must reassure them that they will be taken care of. Please consider how you can help? Consider making monetary donations and/or volunteering at our local pregnancy resource center or food shelves. Consider joining our local Knights of Columbus or Elizabeth Ministry. Be ready at all times to provide guidance and support to those in need. Offer help when you meet someone who is in a challenging situation. Find the referenced letter issued by our Wisconsin Catholic Bishops and the one issued by Bishop James Powers on our website at www.haywardcatholic.org
. Call the parish office to find out more about the Knights of Columbus and Elizabeth Ministry.
