Congrats to everyone who took part in the Walk to Mary this last weekend (May 2-4) in Green Bay! The Walk to Mary is a 22-mile pilgrimage from the national shrine of Saint Joseph to the national shrine of Our Lady of Champions. This year, over 7000 pilgrims participated!
The group this year headed over Friday for noon Mass at the Old St Joseph's church. We then drove up to the national shrine of Our Lady of Champion to spend some time with Our Lady in the apparition oratory, prayed the Devine Mercy chaplet, did a Rosary walk, and of course stopped in the gift shop. Afterwards, we had a wonderful Irish dinner at St Brendan's!
On Saturday, the Walk starts at the national shrine of Saint Joseph on the St Norbert campus. Then you walk wal,k walk along the Fox River to Saint Peter and Paul church for a rest and snack break. After a quick break, you walk walk walk to Holy Cross Chruch for a nice lunch break and rest. Then you walk walk walk some more on beautiful country roads and finish at the shrine of Our Lady of Champions! When you finis,h you can attend one of the beautiful evening Masses. After Mass is over, heading to the Brickhouse for burgers and beers is a welcome relief for tired feet!
Sunday, there is the May crowning Mass at the Our Lady of Champion Shrine, a Rosary walk after the Mass, adoration, and confessions as well.
