Dear parishioners, visitors, guests and benefactors—
We are getting closer to the end of the Lenten season. There are a number of additional confession times available for your convenience. Please consult the bulletin and insert for the place and time of this additional schedule.
The priests of the Diocese of Superior gather for the “priest assembly” beginning Sunday night through Tuesday (April 7-9). There will be a presentation, meals, discussion and social time. Please pray that the time spent together will benefit the Presbyterium. I expect to go up to Superior on Monday morning.
The Chrism Mass is on Tuesday, April 9, at 12:00 noon, at the Cathedral in Superior. All Catholics throughout the Diocese are invited to this special mass. The Chrism Mass is where the bishop blesses the three oils used throughout the year in our sacraments. We have representatives from our parishes who will attend the mass and pick up the oils for our respective parishes. It is a great way to show unity within our Diocese.
The Diocese is also broken down into deaneries. There are five deaneries in the Diocese of Superior. Next Sunday, Palm Sunday, our deanery will be meeting from 2:30-5:00 pm in Tony, Wisconsin. Many people from our finance and parish pastoral councils from both parishes will be attending this important meeting. The topic at hand is to discuss the future of our diocese. Items for discussion will be: clustering, use of personnel, finances, closing of parishes, use of our resources, etc. We also need to pray for the future of our diocese.
