Dear parishioners, visitors, guests and benefactors—
This Sunday is Palm Sunday. It begins Holy Week. Many liturgies are different and begin at different times. Please note that we do NOT have a 4:00 pm Mass next Saturday. The Easter Vigil Mass will start at 8:30 pm. The Easter Vigil service demands that the service begins in darkness. Please save the bulletins as to the exact place and time for the liturgies. I encourage all to partake of these special liturgies. There are still a couple more times of confessions available for your convenience. Please consult the bulletin or confession sheet for the available times. The Easter Sunday Mass schedule is the same Sunday schedule we have all year long. However, because of the detour on Highway 63, we may start a few minutes late.
This weekend a seminarian for the Diocese of Superior will be here at all the masses. He was invited by the Knights of Columbus. Please welcome him to our parish cluster. Your prayers and support for him as he studies for the priesthood are greatly appreciated.
The Diocese of Superior is divided up into five deaneries. A deanery consists of three or four counties. This Sunday, April 14, the South Central Deanery (which we are a part of) will be meeting. Although St. Ann Parish in Cable is located in a different county, they will be joining the South Central Deanery for this meeting since they are connected to St. Joseph Parish in Hayward. The deanery meeting will be held in Tony, Wisconsin, from 2:30 to 5:00 pm. This is a very important meeting. We will be discussing the future of the diocese and parish life; clustering and closing of parishes, pastoral leadership, programming, etc. There are a number of parishioners from both St. Ann and St. Joseph parishes who will attend this meeting. Many representatives from the parishes are trustees, members of the parish finance and pastoral councils and other members at large. Pray for the success of this meeting.
