Dear parishioners, visitors, guests and benefactors—
Our parishes are alive and active. Please note all of the activities taking place in the next seven days. This weekend we celebrate Divine Mercy Sunday. We conclude the Divine Mercy Novena. There will be an additional mass at 2:00 pm on Sunday, April 28, with special devotions to follow. Even if you attended a weekend mass, you are most welcome to come at 3:00 for all of the beautiful Divine Mercy devotions.
This weekend we also congratulate a number of students making their First Holy Communion at the 10:15 mass. This is a great honor for the student and a special day for their entire family. Let us pray for our First Communion children that they deepen their relationship with Jesus and stay close to the church.
On Thursday, May 2, St. Joseph hosts that National Day of Prayer in the Parish Center from 6:45 to 8:00 am. People of different faiths will be present. I hope we have a few members from St. Joseph Parish that can attend to show representation from our parish community. There will be three different representatives from our community (school, law enforcement, etc.) that will give a short presentation and then we will pray for those intentions.
Also on Thursday, May 2, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, St. Joseph Parish hosts the Virtual Pilgrimage to Lourdes. We are privileged to host this unique event. Please plan to attend this wonderful event and grow in your spiritual lives. Also, next Saturday at the 4:00 pm mass, St. Joseph Parish will hold Confirmation where Bishop Powers will be present. Many of our high school students will receive the sacrament of Confirmation. Please welcome Bishop Powers to our parish cluster and pray for those receiving the sacrament of Confirmation. May they remain strong in their faith throughout their lives. All of these activities show how our parishes are alive and how we are building the kingdom of God.
