2022-23 Catholic Services Appeal
Did you know....CSA Funding for Catholic Formation assists parishes in the areas of religious education, sacramental preparation, youth ministry, adult formation and family ministry? Some areas of outreach to parishes consist of leadership development, curriculum guidelines, sacramental guidelines, youth rallies, Extreme faith Camp, Totus Tuus, catechetical certification and retreats. The Office of Catholic Formation’s vision is to assist parishes in evangelizing and making Disciples of Christ within their own parishes, yet also participating in communion with the greater Church in northern Wisconsin. Envelopes are available at each Church entrance and can be mailed or dropped in the donation baskets or give online at www.haywardcatholic.org, click on the Give page and choose St. Joseph 2022-23 CSA or St. Ann 2022-23 CSA. Kerygma Workshop– Sept. 18 and Sept 29
Fr. David has been telling us about and encouraging us to proclaim the Kerygma – the basic Christian message. Well, what exactly is it? Deacon Brian will be leading the same presentation on the Kerygma at St. Joe’s on September 18 at 12:15 pm in the Parish Center and at St. Ann’s on September 29 in the evening-time; place to be announced. Please bring your Bible. Contact Kevin Sullivan (St.Joseph) or Tony Erba (St. Ann) with questions.
Catechetical Sunday—September 18
This is a wonderful opportunity to reflect on the role that each person plays, by virtue of Baptism, in handing on the faith and being a witness to the Gospel. Today we celebrate Catechetical Sunday and the theme is: “This is my body given for you” This year’s catechists will be called forth to be commissioned for their ministry.
Priesthood Sunday—September 25
Priesthood Sunday is a special day set aside to honor the priesthood in the United States. It is a day to reflect upon and affirm the role of the priesthood in the life of the Church as a central one. Please join us in reciting this prayer in gratitude for our priests: “In your loving kindness, O good and gracious God, you sent your Son to be our shepherd and guide. Father David and Father Karun continue Christ's ministry of working in the vineyard by sustaining and guiding your holy people. Bless Father David and Father Karun. Let your Spirit uphold them always in their service to the people of this parish. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen”
